The archived programmes are extremely interesting, as well as exciting, and often show how thinking has progressed in the intervening years. I have always liked Sci Fi on radio. It is better than most visual media. As has been said, "the scenery is better". A favourite of mine used to be "Journey into Space", a series broadcast on the BBC Home Service (before it was Radio 4) during the 1950's.
